What does it take to outsmart cancer? Research. That is why the American Cancer Society has invested more than $4.8 billion in cancer research since 1946.
Research is sometimes hard for people to grasp. I always get asked, “we’ve put a lot of money into it – why don’t we have an answer yet?”
Well, the truth is I only know surface level information (I’m not in a scientist, in case you didn’t know) – but my answer to that question always is – “we have MANY answers.”
Scientists are working around the clock to find these answers; better answers for treatments, answers on factors that may cause cancer and answers on how to improve cancer patients’ quality of life. All of these answers are translating into more lives saved.
