Fighting Childhood Cancer Like Never Before

The partnership between St. Baldrick’s and the American Cancer Society represents a new day and new fight against childhood cancers.

Why?

  • Cancer is the second leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 14, and the leading disease-related cause of death for children and adolescents ages 1-19.
  • Every two minutes, a child or adolescent is diagnosed with cancer worldwide.
  • Before they turn 20, about 1 in 271 children in the US will have cancer.
  • Substantial progress has been made against some types of pediatric cancers, boosting survival for those cancers. However, there are still several types of childhood cancer with low survival rates or no known cure.

That’s why St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the American Cancer Society have partnered to Conquer Kids’ Cancers. This initiative will fund research accelerating the development of improved treatments for kids with cancer. Our goal is to raise $4.4 million by fall 2019 for innovative biological and clinical studies showing the greatest potential for specifically fighting childhood cancers.

We are so excited to be partnering with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation nationwide to join forces and fight childhood cancer like we’ve never done before!
